Commissions and Committees (Advisory Boards)
Advisory Boards, made up of individuals appointed by the City Council, provide guidance in determining how to meet the City’s needs. Cerritos currently has five commissions and two committees.
Applications Open for Service on Economic Development Commission
For the Remainder of the Unexpired 2025 – 2027 Term
Cerritos residents and business owners are invited to submit their application for consideration to serve on the following Advisory Board:
- Economic Development Commission (1 seat*): Members advise the City Council on the needs of existing businesses; the availability of economic development opportunities and resources; and business retention, expansion, and marketing.

An eligible, appointed individual will serve a term through April 30, 2027.
To be considered for appointment to Cerritos Advisory Boards, an application must be submitted online or in person to the Office of the City Clerk. Though the application for service lists all Advisory Boards, a vacant position exists only on the Economic Development Commission at this time. Applications will be accepted until all positions are filled.
