Orange County Sanitation District Construction Notice

Details

The Orange County Sanitation District has announced that construction activities impacting portions of the cities of Cerritos and La Palma will begin this month along Denni Street as part of the ongoing Cypress Trunk Sewer Project.

Beginning the week of April 27, crews will mobilize along Denni Street between La Palma Avenue (Del Amo Boulevard) and Robin Drive to upsize a section of regional sewer pipe. The work is scheduled to continue through August and will take place on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

A full closure at Moorgate Drive will be required in mid-May. Work hours for this phase will occur weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and are expected to continue through July.

Intersection improvements at Del Amo Boulevard and Denni Street will also begin in mid-May. During this stage:

  • One east/westbound lane will remain open.
  • No north/southbound through traffic or left turns will be permitted in any direction.
  • Crosswalks, bike lanes, and a bus stop will be temporarily closed.

Permanent traffic control will remain in place throughout construction, and residents are advised to follow posted detours, including using Redford Lane to access neighborhoods affected by the Moorgate closure. Denni Street Park in La Palma will be closed during construction and restored once work is complete.

All dates and times are subject to change due to weather or operational considerations.
