Model UN Students Recognized at Celebrating Cerritos Event
Details
The inaugural Celebrating Cerritos event was held on May 28 as part of a special meeting of the Cerritos City Council. This standalone event, held each quarter, offers a dedicated spotlight independent of traditional City Council proceedings to recognize those who are making a difference in the community.
The City recognized students from the ABC Unified School District for their performances at National Model United Nations this spring. Sixty total students, faculty advisors, and chaperones were acknowledged for their contributions.
Cerritos High School Model United Nations was recognized with the Award of Distinction in Debate and the Award of Excellence in Research & Preparation. It was among a select number of schools to receive both awards at the national conference.
Gahr High School Model United Nations was recognized with the Outstanding Delegation Award, representing a top-tier finish for the entire delegation from a school. It was the sole school from California to be awarded the Outstanding Delegation recognition.
