Hazardous Waste Round-ups
Cerritos residents can safely dispose of used motor oil, electronics, computer equipment, cleaners with acids or lye, paint, batteries, pesticides, weed killer and chemicals from hobby and art projects at a Household Hazardous Waste Round-up. The Round-ups, free for Los Angeles County residents, are planned regularly by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, in cooperation with local cities.
Disposing of these hazardous wastes in any other way is dangerous and illegal. Hazardous waste dumped into sewers, storm drains and trash bins can seep into ground water, damage sewage treatment plants and pollute the ocean.
For the date and location of the next Household Hazardous Waste Round-up, call the County's toll-free hotline, (888) CLEAN-LA, or visit the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Schedule of Events page on the L.A. County website.
