Notice of Service Termination for the Cerritos On Wheels (COW)
At the April 13, 2026 City Council meeting, the Cerritos City Council approved the elimination of the Cerritos On Wheels (COW) fixed-route service due to the increasing costs to maintain and provide a general public fixed-route bus service. Additional information is available here. The COW fixed-route service will operate through May 31, 2026, after which the service will be discontinued.

The Cerritos on Wheels (COW) provides a convenient and low cost service to the community, with the option to pay trip fares on the COW bus or to purchase monthly bus passes for unlimited rides, in advance of riding the COW service. The following rates shall apply:

Purchase Monthly Bus Passes
Monthly bus passes are available for purchase online or in-person at Cerritos City Hall. For assistance, please contact the Department of Community Development at (562) 916-1201.
Please note that bus passes ordered online after regular business hours will be processed on the following business day. Should bus passes be required immediately, please call (562) 916-1201 to schedule an appointment to pick-up bus passes in person at City Hall. Otherwise, please allow 3-5 business days from the time of purchase for the U.S. Postal Service to deliver bus passes.
