Fitness and Wellness Programs
The Cerritos Senior Center at Pat Nixon Park offers a variety of fitness wellness programs to help seniors take charge of their health. Fitness classes include yoga, Longevity Stick, Zumba, chair exercises, tai-chi, chair yoga, walking for fitness and aerobic classes. Wellness programs include workshops about healthy nutrition and seminars on proper fitness techniques.
Recreational Activities
A combination of structured and informal recreational opportunities are available at the Cerritos Senior Center. Senior citizens may come to the Center to play bridge, watch movies, play Wei Qi, take laughter and humor classes, learn a new art or craft, or just drop in to play a game of billiards or ping-pong with friends.
Enrichment Activities
Knitting and crocheting, guitar, literature, hula and ukulele classes, special interest classes, and music are just a few of the enrichment activities and classes offered to seniors.
Human Services
The Cerritos Senior Center provides counseling and social services in the areas of legal aid, Medicare and health. The Center encourages seniors to take charge of their own wellness by offering a variety of wellness and informational lectures and programs. Additionally, staff is available to provide seniors basic information and referral on senior issues. The Center also offers a daily hot lunch provided by the Human Services Association (HSA). Cerritos residents with disabilities and homebound seniors can access Home Delivered Meals by calling (562) 806-5400.

Education
Educational classes, conducted by representatives of various agencies, as well as informative workshops, are available at the Center. Developing healthy lifestyles, reducing medical costs, understanding Medicare, and safe-driving techniques are some of the topics addressed in Center workshops and classes. In addition, the Center's Reading Library carries a variety of resource materials and provides access to the Cerritos Public Library's on-line catalog.
Special Events
The Center offers seasonal special events. These events include an annual Grandparent event, Women's Day Luncheon, a Health and Wellness Fair, and lunches with dancing for seasonal celebrations.
Community Participation Division
The Community Participation Division advises residents of the availability of services supplied by the City, other governmental agencies and various groups. The division also coordinates with City's dignitary special events and manages the Cerritos Senior Center at Pat Nixon Park.
