Details

The Cerritos Library will host a series of authors in April. The Meet the Author events will take place in the Skyline Room, which is located on the third floor of the Cerritos Library. Please see below for a list of upcoming author events.

Wednesday, April 1, at 6 p.m., poet Nancy Lynée Woo will celebrate poetry and the planet in a generative creative writing workshop. April is National Poetry Writing Month and Earth Month, and participants will explore eco-poetry through sample readings, discussions, and writing prompts, with time to write and share. Whether participants are seasoned poets or have never written a poem, they are invited to engage in a supportive and inspiring environment. All materials will be provided.

Thursday, April 2, at 6 p.m., the Cerritos Library will also host author David A. Romero. Romero writes on the topics of horror and mystery and will discuss his debut novel, The Enemy Sleeps, which will include readings and a book signing. Romero is a Mexican American poet, novelist, and publisher from Diamond Bar. He is the cofounder and editor-in-chief of El Martillo Press and the author of the poetry collections My Name Is Romero and Diamond Bar 2. His work has appeared in literary magazines and anthologies throughout the United States and abroad. The program is available to participants aged 12 and older, and registration is not required.

Tuesday, April 7, at 6 p.m., Jennifer Coburn, author of Girls of the Glimmer Factor, and Jill G. Hall, author of On a Sundown Sea, will discuss their writing process and the extensive research required to write their novels. Guests will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the presentation. Books will also be available for purchase and signing following the Q&A.
