The community is invited to the City of Cerritos’ Martin Luther King, Jr. Day ceremony at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 19 at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts. The Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts is located at 18000 Park Plaza Drive in Cerritos. The event is free to attend, and seating will be general admission.

The ceremony will celebrate the legacy of Dr. King with comments by the Cerritos City Council, special guest speakers, a poetry presentation, and musical performances. Light refreshments will be served.

As service projects, the Cerritos Area Alumnae of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is holding a Warm Soles, Warm Hands, Warm Heads winter collection drive and the Pi Sigma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is holding a canned food drive. To contribute to the winter collection drive, please bring new socks, gloves, or hats for adults or children. To contribute to the food drive, please bring canned food that will be donated to a local food pantry.
